Richard Underwood --Banjo, Vocals--
Richard Underwood is well known to traditional bluegrass audiences for his
hard driving and dynamic banjo playing. Originally from the Washington, DC
Area, Richard began his career playing with the Johnson Mountain Boys in
the late 1970’s. It was with the JMB Richard earned his reputation
as an excellent banjo player from his wide exposure to national and international
audiences. He has performed and recorded with artists such as Hazel Dickens,
The McCoury Brothers, Bob and Dan Paisley, and Scott Brannon.
